Privacy Policy
The Muskoka Hood Cleaning Privacy Policy is the statement of what this website collects about you, which services handle it, how long it is kept, and how you see, correct or delete it. It follows the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the federal privacy law for Canadian businesses. You give personal details in one place only: the quote form. Two pieces of third-party code also run on the site, a Google tag and a chat widget, and both are described below. Last updated: September 2026.
What the quote form collects
The five fields you fill in. Your name, phone number, email address, business or kitchen name, and a message about what you need. All five are required. The phone number must have ten digits so the crew can call you back. The form appears on the homepage and the contact page.
What the page adds. The address and title of the page you sent the form from, a label saying which of the two forms you used, and a timing stamp from when the page loaded. The timing stamp lets the system drop submissions sent faster than a person can read the form. The system also adds the date and time of sending and a reference number.
A hidden field. One field is invisible to people and is filled in only by automated scripts. A submission with that field filled in is thrown away.
What the form never asks for. Card or bank details, government ID numbers, passwords or health information.
Where your submission goes
First: a Netlify function. The form sends your details to a small program hosted by Netlify on this domain. It refuses posts from other websites, checks the hidden field, the timing stamp and the phone number, then passes a clean submission on. It keeps no database of submissions. Netlify keeps short technical logs of errors.
Second: the GoHighLevel CRM. The function forwards your details to the GoHighLevel customer relationship system used by Muskoka Hood Cleaning and its operating crew, Power Hoods Systems. There it becomes a contact record, and the person who books walk-throughs is notified.
Why it is kept. The record exists to arrange a free walk-through, send the written quote, schedule the visit and issue the certificate. The crew may call, text or email you for those reasons.
No sale or sharing for advertising. Your details are not sold, rented or passed to an advertising network.
Servers outside Canada. Netlify and GoHighLevel may store data outside Canada. PIPEDA permits this when the information is protected by contract with the service provider.
The Google tag and the chat widget
The Google tag (GT-NC6CK43). Every page loads a Google tag from Google. It records visits to pages along with basic browser, device and approximate location details, and it can set Google Analytics cookies in your browser. The business uses it to count visits and to keep the site connected to Google Search Console. Google processes that data under its own privacy policy. You can block or clear these cookies in your browser settings without losing any part of the site.
The chat widget. A live chat window, when switched on, is provided by GoHighLevel. Its code does not load when a page first opens. It loads after your first scroll, tap, click or key press, or after about eight seconds. Once loaded, it can store data in your browser to keep one conversation going between pages, and anything you type into it goes to the same CRM as the quote form. If no chat window appears, the chat is not running.
Cookies from this site. Apart from the Google tag and the chat widget, the site sets no cookies of its own.
Server logs. The hosting provider and the content delivery network that serve these pages keep standard logs (IP address, browser, page and time) for security and reliability.
Retention, access, correction and deletion
How long a record stays. A request that never becomes a job is kept long enough to answer it and to recognise the kitchen if it calls again. For completed work, the certificate and photographs are safety records. A kitchen may need them later for its fire department, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, Lakelands Public Health or an insurer. They are kept with the contact details needed to reissue them.
Seeing your record. PIPEDA gives you the right to see the personal information a business holds about you. Call 705-302-3662 or use the contact page, and you receive a copy within the time PIPEDA allows.
Correcting it. A wrong phone number, a new email or a changed kitchen name is fixed on request.
Deleting it. Contact details are deleted on request. Certificates and photographs for completed work are kept as safety records, and you are told so when you ask.
If you are not satisfied. Raise the concern by phone first. Anyone in Canada can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children, links and changes. This site is written for people who run commercial kitchens and is not aimed at anyone under 18. Links to other websites lead to their own privacy practices. When the handling of information changes, this page changes and its date moves. The terms of service cover the conditions for a job.
Privacy: frequently asked questions
Who sees the details typed into the quote form?
The crew that books walk-throughs and writes quotes sees them. Netlify runs the form function and GoHighLevel hosts the CRM, both as service providers. No other company receives your record for its own use.
Why does the form record which page it came from?
The page address tells Muskoka Hood Cleaning which page led to the request. Two pages carry the same form, and that label is the only way to tell them apart.
What does the Google tag collect?
The Google tag (GT-NC6CK43) collects page visits and basic browser, device and approximate location details, and it can set Google Analytics cookies. It does not receive anything you type into the quote form.
Does the chat widget load on every page?
